Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Multiple mobile phones were reported missing during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. The incident took place while a large number of BJP workers and leaders had gathered for the political event.
During the event, BJP MLA Deepak Barman, who was anchoring the programme, made an announcement over the microphone regarding the missing phones. He said, “Several workers’ phones have gone missing. If anyone finds any mobile phones, please hand them over to the volunteers.”
The rally was attended by senior BJP leaders including the party’s state in-charge Sunil Bansal, who addressed the crowd and spoke about upcoming programmes to mark the completion of 11 years of the central government. He stated that a series of outreach events would be held from June 9 to June 21.
According to Bansal, the first phase will include professional meets across all districts on June 10 and 11, where doctors, lawyers, and police personnel will be invited. On June 11, the party will host the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’, and International Yoga Day will be observed across mandals on June 21.
He further instructed party workers to complete the formation of booth committees between June 4 and 6, followed by mandal committee formation. He stressed the importance of grassroots-level work and directed that these organisational tasks be completed within the month of June.
